Journey of PTDJ
February 1996: Conception
The idea of a Nigerian-based petroleum industry journal was first mooted at a meeting of the "Forum of the Management of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI)" and the "Training Managers in the Petroleum Sector" in Nigeria.
2001 - 2009: The Early Years
The journal was originally published as the Petroleum Training Journal (PTJ).
2005: NUC Recognition
The journal was accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and ranked "First" in the Technology and Engineering Category.
Transition to PTDF
The journal was transferred to the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) to sustain it and align it with the Fund's mandate. It was subsequently renamed the Petroleum Technology Development Journal (PTDJ).
